“Blown By the Breeze”

– by Emily Callahan

The sound of your name,

Dances across my tongue.

Wrapped in your blanket,

Along the fire,

I see your smile,

Only for it to disappear.

Our time,

While full, was fleeting,

Now you are just dandelion seeds,

Blown in the summer breeze,

Only to land in someone else’s yard,

And make their wishes come true.
