“My new journey” – Jessica Fontaine

I miss the sound

Of my feet on the pavement

Moving toward the sun

Or trying to make it home

Before the rain

I miss the thing

I took for granted

Years and years

Of hyping up

My youthful body

Now I should feel

Like I can embark

On a new journey

Because I have other ideas

But I miss this one

I had a purpose

Where did it go?

It was stolen from me

Because my body

Wasn’t strong enough to finish

No.

When one journey ends

Another can start

When one journey ends

It doesn’t make me worth less

I am worth more.

When I find a new journey

I’ll forget about this pain

I’m the strongest person I know.

My feet will hit the pavement

On a brand new day.
